St. Ignace, Mich.-based Mackinac Straits Health System is expanding its spine and orthopedic services due to increasing demand in the region, the Cheboygan Daily Tribune reported Oct. 13.

The system’s outpatient surgery department recently implemented a total joint replacement program and brought four new physicians to its practice thanks to a partnership with Petoskey, Mich.-based Bay Street Orthopaedics.

Anthony Bozzio, MD, a specialist in cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine surgery, is now offering his services at MSHS.

Orthopedic surgeons Eric Mancini, MD, Scott Nemec, DO, and Alfred Wroblewski, MD, also joined the health system.

Long-time HSHS surgeons Dan Wilcox, MD, and Joseph Hance, MD, have relocated their practices to St. Ignace to further bolster orthopedic care in the region.
