Bay Street Orthopaedics & Spine Welcomes New Partners and CEO in January, 2024.
Bay Street Orthopaedics & Spine, a leading orthopaedic practice in Northern Michigan, is pleased to announce the addition of two distinguished partners, Dr. Joshua T. Anderson and Dr. Patrick O’Callaghan, to its team, along with the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Rod Nelson.
The partners of Bay Street Orthopaedics & Spine – Dr. Fred Wroblewski, Dr. Anthony Bozzio, and Dr. Scott Nemec – are proud to welcome Dr. Joshua T. Anderson and Dr. Patrick O’Callaghan as new partners in the practice. Both physicians are highly regarded in the field of orthopaedics and have been an integral part of the Bay Street team for the past 18 months. Ascending to partners in the practice reflects their exceptional expertise and unwavering dedication to patient care, as well as the continued growth of the practice as a whole. With Dr. Anderson’s subspecialty in total joint replacement surgeries and Dr. O’Callaghan’s subspecialty in hand, wrist, and elbow injuries and deformity, both physicians contribute to the high level of orthopaedic specialization that patients can expect from Bay Street Orthopaedics and Spine.
Dr. O’Callaghan states, “I am thrilled to now be a partner at Bay Street Orthopaedics and Spine. When I moved back to Northern Michigan over a year ago, I was looking forward to building a practice and life in this community that I love, and have been very happy here. I am proud to be part of a group of fellowship-trained, subspecialty surgeons. By working together, we are able to offer a high level of care to our patients where they are treated for each problem by an expert in their field. I am excited to help Bay Street continue to grow and evolve, and become a regional leader in healthcare and a destination for Orthopaedics.” Dr. Anderson shares, “I am excited and very optimistic for where we are at as a practice now and where we are heading. As a team of fellowship-trained surgeons, we are proud to provide specialty orthopaedic care of the highest quality around. From our five orthopaedic centers to Bay Street Urgent Care & Family Practice, we are committed to providing Northern Michigan with the most up-to-date services and care.”
Mr. Rod Nelson, the newly appointed CEO, brings his extensive experience and proven leadership in healthcare administration to Bay Street Orthopaedics & Spine. Mr. Nelson served as CEO of the Mackinac Straits Health System for 18 years, during which he led several key expansion initiatives, including opening a new surgical center, Critical Access Hospital and nursing home, as well as the Mackinac Island Medical Center. In 2016 Mr. Nelson was recognized as the American Hospital Association’s Rural Healthcare Leader of the Year, and he received the Michigan Health and Hospital Association’s Meritorious Service Award in 2017. He continues to be an effective advocate for rural health and serves as a board member for rural health and information technology organizations. “I look forward to assisting Bay Street Orthopaedics & Spine and its partners into its next phase of growth and excellence in patient care, including the addition of a new partner with a subspecialty in Sports Medicine joining in the spring of 2024,” states Nelson.
