Joseph Hance, MD, is a general orthopaedic surgeon who has extensive experience in the evaluation of patients with shoulder, knee, hip and elbow problems including trauma.
The native Detroiter graduated from Wayne State Medical School in 1977. He completed a five-year program in orthopaedic surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, on June 30, 1982. Dr. Hance arrived in Petoskey one week later, beginning his practice with Bay Street Orthopaedics on July 5, 1982.
Dr. Hance has served the community in various roles over his 37 years, including chief of surgery.
